Kristen Castro is Back and Better Than Ever!
by Ryan Canestro on Jul.30, 2011, under Studio News
The last time Kristen was in the studio was at the end of 2009! What has she been up to in that time? As it turns out, just about everything and she is still only 17! She has preformed at a private event for Grammy Foundation, with Keith Urban at UCLA’s Starry Night Concert, El Rey Theatre, Roxy Theater, Canyon Club, NAMM 2009, Malibu Inn, and Disneyland’s California Adventure to name a few. Next week she is heading off to Grammy Camp in New York and will play a showcase in Times Square. Basically the normal life of most soon to be seniors in high school.
There is a great article about her in the Ventura County Star that came out yesterday. Here is a link to the online article:
I shot a quick video of her in the studio today while tracking some acoustic guitar. This young lady has some serious chops!

by Ryan Canestro on Dec.26, 2009, under Studio News
The 15 year old young lady that can play a mean Les Paul guitar was back in the studio today to add some overdubs to the project she started here two weeks. She and her Mother Raquel are a pleasure to work with and the time seems to fly by when we are underway in a session. I am looking forward to many more projects in the future with the Castro Family.
Kristen Castro Session
by Ryan Canestro on Dec.17, 2009, under Studio News
Kristen is a young girl that can play a mean Les Paul. She is only 15 and can play better than most players in their 40′s. She and her Mother came in last Saturday and we got through 3 and a half songs. Kristen laid down multiple guitar parts and bass. One song had 4 meter changes and 3 tempo changes! Certainly an amazing talent and I look forward to working with her again soon. Here is a video clip.
